Programming Courses and Workshops

We offer one to one tuition in app development, Java, Python, Lua and Scratch courses.  We will also be offering programming seminars when we obtain a suitable venue.

Introduction to Programming Course

Split over ten, two hour sessions this course takes a student from basic planning to script writing in Scratch to creating simple programs in Python. This course is recommended for those who like to practice in between sessions to really cement their learning of covered topics.

Cost £200 or £25 per session.

Introduction to Programming Workshop

Covered in one day of intense programming, this course takes a student from script writing in Scratch to creating simple Python programs. This course is recommended for quick studies or those who have some prior limited programming experience.

Cost: £70

Python Programming Course

Split over ten, two hour sessions this course requires a student to have some basic knowledge of the Python programming language. Completing our Introduction to Programming course would be ideal preparation for this. The topics covered take a student from creating programs in Python that input and output text, on to those that make decisions and repeat things. Topics also covered are data structures, external libraries, file handling and defensive programming. This version of the course is recommended for those who like to practice in between sessions to really cement their learning of covered topics.

Cost: £200 or £25 per session

Python Programming Workshop I

An intense one day workshop that requires a student to have some basic knowledge of the Python programming language. Completing our Introduction to Programming course would be ideal preparation for this. The topics in this workshop take a student from creating programs in Python that input and output text, on to those that make decisions and repeat things. Students learn who to define and call procedures and make use of external libraries.

Cost: £70

Python Programming Workshop II

This fast paced workshop is at an advanced level so requires a student to know how to use input/output, sequence, selection and iteration as well as use subroutines (both procedures and functions) and use external libraries. Completing the “Python Programming Workshop I” would be ideal preparation for this. Attendees to this workshop will learn how to use data structures (lists, tuples and dictionaries), work with files/databases and employ defensive programming techniques.
